Divination

Divination voices a wish for a safer world – one where war has already been ruled out as an illogical and impermissible choice. It took shape during the Russian siege of the Azovstal Steel Plant in Mariupol, in the long hours of waiting for a humanitarian corridor that would rescue the civilians confined there and bring medical help to the wounded. The work feels just as urgent now, amid the protests against the war in Gaza and the fervent hope for its conclusion.
