Winnicott’s notion of the “good enough mother” taught us the formative value of the small, ordinary failures in parental care – their role in shaping personality, coping capacities, and resilience. But failure, in this work, shifts its locus: it is Society that fails its children when it fails to support the parents who cannot uphold the unspoken promise of a happy childhood, beyond their inevitable shortcomings.

The installation consists of a structure assembled from shattered insulating-glass windows, recalling the form of a playground slide – an architecture in which pain is inevitably felt.
