Larva

Larva stems from a frightening childhood memory. It is composed of brass-cast units made from discarded wax elements of a previous sculpture, deformed by the heat of the studio. The convergence of this memory, the symbol of the ouroboros, and the metamorphosing material becomes an attempt to confront the cyclical, unavoidable return of pain and anxiety, while affirming the drive towards growth and the emergence of creative forces from distress.
