Paths is an installation composed of three interrelated works: Rayuela (Spanish: hopscotch), Dado (Spanish: dice), and Barras (Spanish: iron bars). Each work combines salvaged garden waste with elements from games that were part of the artist’s childhood in Uruguay. The interplay between childhood memories and decay in Nature traces a lifetime’s arc, framing the acceptance of the natural cycle as a way of dealing with aging, coming to terms with the loss of loved ones, and with the small daily reminders found in changing health, memory, possibilities, physical strength and looks.

These works are not intended as mourning; rather, they celebrate the beauty of what persists while clearing space for renewal in the next generation.
